Dr. Hancock completed medical school at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012 where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. In 2012 she was awarded the student D.O. of the year.

 

She went on to complete a Family Medicine Residency and a Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Fellowship. She is board certified in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She worked as a primary care physician for 10 years where she combined osteopathy and family practice to best serve her patients. She decided to open True Roots Osteopathy to practice traditional osteopathy in 2023.

 

Dr. Hancock has studied Biodynamic Osteopathy and Osteopathy in the Cranial Field extensively since meeting James Jealous, D.O. in 2007. She has been very fortunate to have several skilled mentors who she continues to study with regularly.

 

With her experience in Osteopathic  Family Medicine she treats a wide range of illnesses osteopathically. She takes an integrative and individualized approach to each patient.

 

In her free time she enjoys swimming, being in nature, meditation, yoga, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.

Dr. Hancock believes in the body's innate ability to heal itself. She is particularly skilled in the treatment of physical and emotional traumas. She enjoys working with all ages but has a particular interest in pediatrics, women's health and behavioral medicine.
